Getting here

There are various directions in which you can come to Normandie, depending on your method of travelling and where you are coming from. Generally Paris features as the transit destination to which most of the internal and external country public transport centres on.

Our nearest railway station is Flers (61) about 2 hours from Paris. The station in Paris you need is Paris Montparnasse 3. Montparnasse is a large station, which from it’s entrance you need to allow, according to helpers, 10 to 20 minutes to hike through to get to the Montparnasse 3 platforms. For French rail info see http://www.voyages-sncf.com/

By arrangement we can pick you up and drop you off from Flers station, though only in the afternoons between 13:00 and 16:30.

Flying
Paris is served principally by the airports, Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and Orly. There is an efficient, low cost, shuttle bus network from CDG and Orly to the Parisian stations, Montparnasse being well served. You can get a discount by booking online. Visit http://www.lescarsairfrance.com/

Beauvais a low cost airline destination is some distance out of the city. We are advised there is a shuttle coach to Paris. More info on this would be welcome.

Driving
The nearest town is the beautiful small town of Domfront (61700). We will provide you with detailed directions from Domfront by direct email if it is mutually agreed you are coming here.

Ferries from the UK
The most convenient route to our part of Normandie is from Portsmouth to Caen by Brittany Ferries http://www.brittany-ferries.co.uk/

The next nearest ferry is LD lines who operate between Portsmouth to Le Havre and Newhaven to Dieppe http://ldlines.co.uk/. Both Le Havre and Dieppe have SNCF train stations. User feedback is needed on best routes by train to Flers.

Bus from Caen Ouistreham
A good cheap bus service is available from the ferry. See http://www.busverts.fr/

A regular shuttle bus service runs between the ferry port and Caen gare, from where you can then take the ligne 34 to Flers (finishes at the train station). A bus service runs between the train station at Flers and Domfront our closest town, see http://www.orne.fr/transports/cap-orne. Go down the page to the downloads of timetables and look for ligne 25.
